Jennifer peers at the camera from behind her mask while out in the woods preparing for a deer hunt recently. Jennifer and her husband are avid hunters. She takes the sport serious, practicing her archer skills throughout the summer to prepare herself for Autumn when deer season opens. She's one of a growing number of women who are taking up the sport across the country.

Broke my bow today

My golden eagle compound bow that my father gave me almost a decade ago broke on me at the range today. The aluminum casting in the riser has been known to break on these bows. I was lucky because it broke after I had let the string go so it collapsed down and not back into my face. If the company hadn't of already gone out of business I'd be able to do something about it. For now, just need to focus on getting a new bow for my hunt in less than a months time.

Went to Vancouver Lake to see what I could see tonight. On the way back to the car I saw this guy taking target practice above me. I shot him, thankfully he didn't shoot me.

Bow hunting the Arc Dome wilderness area hiked in about 8 miles and wandered for 2 days. The weather packed in and rained mostly clearing out the deer. Surely did more hiking than hunting.
